Brno is the second largest city of the Czech Republic and with its nearly 400,000 citizens it is also a significant social, cultural and economic centre of South Moravia. Thanks to its ideal location and wide range of gastronomic services and accommodation, the city is a popular destination ideal for trade fairs and congresses as well as for the organisation of company and private events. Brno lies in a strategic position within Central Europe. Important Central European metropolises are situated within a 120-200 km radius: Prague, Vienna and Bratislava. The international Brno Airport serves regular fligts. There are several universities, the most important justice authorities and the city is known as a centre of science, research and innovation.
